Hi Everyone,
We just wanted to wish you all a happy new year and highlight some of the exciting things that will be happening over the next few months.
Firstly we wanted to start by announcing that we have successfully received a warm places grant.
This has provided us with a pool of money to improve the services that we can offer in the shop, such as a cinema room where our guests and customers can sit down and watch a movie on our 100 inch projection screen, enjoy even more gaming space in our 2nd gaming area and shortly we will be providing an improved range of drinks and snacks.
Secondly we have been accepted on the Warhammer Alliance program from Games Workshop, subsequently we will be running a series of how to build, paint and play warhammer games. In addition we will be running these events in partnership with the Doncaster Children's University in order to provide children on their course to be able to come to our sessions and earn additional credits.
Thirdly, we have also been accepted as a Dungeons and Dragons Beyond Educator, this means we have been giving access to free rule books and materials as well as educational resources in order for us to help players develop their reading, writing, maths skills as well as helping improve their communication and problem solving skills.
Finally, we will also be opening the store for an extra gaming session on a Wednesday night to allow players the opportunity to grab some midweek gaming time, catch a movie or just have some time to catch up with other members of the community. We will be announcing the start date for these sessions shortly.
All in all this has taken some time to arrange but we are really looking forward to sharing these experiences with you all.
But that's not all. Below is a list of in store events that are coming over the next few months.
17th January - New D&D campaign journey through the radiant Citadel begins
18th January - Rouke's Drift anniversary battle - Zulu’s… lots of Zulu’s
25th January - Warhammer 40K Combat Patrol Tournament - Mini tournament great for beginners.
8th February - Warhammer 40K Ten player Tournament - 2000 point mini tournament
22nd February - Competitive D&D event - multiple team tournament to see who is the better adventuring party.
We also have some other exciting events planned for over the next 12 months and we will be sharing details of these shortly.
We want to thank you all for your support helping us get our community moving and we have some exciting new details to follow regarding our work with the Neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ and other communities in Doncaster and the surrounding area.
Take Care everyone
Craig
